Charity Vance, New Idol Music

An EP from former Idol contestant Charity Vance

Charity Vance grabbed my attention a year ago with a splendid little pop tune called “Icing.”

It was released about the same time the singer-songwriter from Little Rock, Ark., appeared on Season 9 of Idol, where she dared sing “Summertime” during the audition round … and still earned a golden ticket to Hollywood.

She failed to make the semifinals that year or the next, when she once again advanced to the Hollywood. After Idol that year, she headed to Nashville to record music.

Now she’s released an EP called “Let’s Pretend” that includes three of her songs, the title track plus “The Diner Song” and “Where Do You Want to Be.”

The EP is available on iTunes for $2.97, and you can head to Charity’s website to listen to three other singles she’s released, including “Icing.”

The endearing voice that makes “Icing” so special is evident on the new EP as well, including the song I’ve embedded below.
