Three of the singers who will take the stage for Team Michael tonight on The Voice have new music out.

That includes Angie Rey, Adam David and Barry Jean Fontenot.

Angie had released music before The Voice. But she dropped her first single with writing credit — a song called “Running Back” — in late February when The Voice Season 27 premiered.

Now she’s back with another, a single called “Mint Condition” that dropped April 25 and has already become one of Angie’s most popular on streaming sites.

“This song means so much to me, and I’m beyond grateful for the incredible team that helped bring it to life,” Angie writes on social media. “I love love, and writing this was so special.”

Angie wrote the song with Mark Addison Chandler, Kimberly Penz and Calynn; Alex Kiel produced the track.

Adam David released “Savior,” a song about this recovery from addiction on March 22.

His clean date was in March 2019 and Adam recalls that he started writing the song on the night he initiated the process to enter treatment.

“It was like 5 in the morning, and I had been up for days and I sat down and the first half of the song came out. And for me, that felt like talking to myself,” he says in an Instagram post about the song.

He went to treatment, tried to complete the song while there, but says he was unable to.

“On the day I was leaving, in that moment, on that day, the rest of the song came out. And I say that’s like the gift, or the reward, of getting through the program.”

Barry Jean Fontenot had also released music prior to The Voice, most of it as lead singer of a band group Barry and the Fountains. Those releases included a 2020 song called “The Flow.”

Now, with the help of producer Scott Freebass, he’s revisited the song with a “post-pandemic” version, dropped last month. He applauds Freebass for helping take the song in a “more lo-fi direction, while remaining committed to the rawness of the original recording.

“This is one I’ve been holding onto for a long time, but now felt like the right moment,” Barry adds.
