Anoop Desai just tweeted the dates for the release of his first single and an EP.

The single, “My Name,” will be released March 23.

The EP, “All Is Fair,” will be out sometime in May, Anoop says.

“It’s been busy writing and recording music,” Anoop writes. “Really excited.”

This will mark the first post-Idol music released by Anoop, who finished sixth on American Idol in season eight.

I know Anoop had been writing music with Ricky Braddy, a season eight semifinalist, and Brandon Rogers, a season six finalist.

Not sure who wrote “My Name,” but here’s a YouTube video of Anoop performing the song.

The video comes from his appearance earlier this week at the Malan Breton Fall 2010 Collection show in Manhatten.
