American Idol’s house cleaning continued Monday, proving FOX is serious about revamping the show in hopes of recapturing its former glory. Executive producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick won’t be around for American Idol Season 13, FOX confirmed.
Carrie Underwood was on the stage again Sunday night, headlining the final night of the CMA Fest in Nashville. A highlight of her four-song set was a cover of Guns N’ Roses “Paradise City,” a song she performed at the same venue back in 2010 as a duet with Jason Aldean.
With her “People Like Us” dance anthem still climbing the charts, Kelly Clarkson debuted a new country single over the weekend. That’s right, a country single.

The big mover among American Idol tunes on the music chart this week is Kelly Clarkson’s latest single, “People Like Us.” Likely fueled by the release of the music video, the song jumped a whopping 20 spots on the Hot 100.
Carrie Underwood provided one of the night’s musical highlights at the CMT Music Awards with a tribute to Oklahoma’s tornado victim. Then she took the night’s top honors, winning video of the year for “Blown Away.”
If you watch The Voice, you’ve seen the advertisements for the latest singing show coming down the pike — “The Winner Is.” And you might have wondered if you’re likely to see any familiar faces on the show.
You might not have noticed, but a former 12th-place finisher on American Idol is steadily climbing the music charts. Leah LaBelle is doing it nine years after appearing in the show’s Season 3 finals as Paula Abdul’s wild card pick.
Farewell, Holly Tucker. OK, I know it isn’t official; The Voice hasn’t even started yet. But can there be any other outcome tonight?
Congratulations, Cassadee Pope. The Voice’s Season 3 winner hasn’t even taken the stage tonight for the official premiere of her first single. And, already, “Wasting All These Tears” has cracked iTunes top 10.
