“Smash” failed to win a Golden Globe award Sunday night, but star Katharine McPhee made a splash on the red carpet. McPhee was one of two entertainers with American Idol ties to be nominated for a Golden Globe.

Season 3 Idol winner Fantasia released a new single this week. The song is called “Love To Win” and it’s part of a move away from a pure R&B-soul sound to more of a rock-soul sound, the singer says.
TMZ has reported that Britney Spears is definitely leaving as judge on The X Factor, deciding instead to focus on making an eighth album. And now MTV says it has confirmed the same, that Britney won’t be back, and that she quit because she knew she wouldn’t be asked back anyway.
