Devoid of the goofballs known as Emblem 3, devoid of the vocally challenged like Cece Frey and the atrociously inconsistent like Paige Thomas and Diamond White, The X Factor delivered a pretty good night of singing on Wednesday. Fifth Harmony sounded like they could be relevant on the pop charts today. Carly Rose Sonenclar sounded…
The Voice put on a very nice Season 3 finale. The finalists and other Season 3 contestants were involved in nearly every musical performance. My biggest complaint: The biggest news of the night came so late in the show, we barely had time to watch Cassadee Pope react to her victory.
The final three on The X Factor take the stage tonight. And their performances will include at least one duet. Carly Rose Sonenclar will perform with LeAnn Rimes. Tate Stevens will take the stage with Little Big Town. And Fifth Harmony will perform with none other than X Factor judge Demi Lovato.
Cassadee Pope’s reaction to winning The Voice? Here’s what she wrote on Facebook: “Holy moly cannoli!!!! I won!!!!!!!! Thank you all SO much. I’m absolutely in awe and so thankful for this incredible experience.”
Cassadee Pope, Terry McDermott and Nicholas David took the stage one last time to sing for viewers’ votes Monday night. Each artist repeated one of their top performances from the season, performed a new solo song and sang a duet with their mentor. Here are the photos from Monday’s episode.
Tonight’s episode of The Voice should end with the coronation of Cassadee Pope. Not because of what she did Monday night. Not even because she had an unprecedented third single land atop the iTunes chart this morning. But because she’s been the most consistently superb singer among an excellent cast on The Voice for the…
Regardless of what happens, you could argue that someone deserving will win Season 2 of The X Factor. Voters made sure of that last week when they jettisoned the incredibly over-rated Emblem 3 after another night of performances more worthy of $5 than $5 million. Perhaps hearing L.A. Reid compare them to the Beatles after…
Cassadee Pope chalked up her third number one single on iTunes this morning. And perhaps the Season 3 title on The Voice in the process. At 10 a.m., when voting closed for Monday night’s performance finale, “Cry” was parked atop the iTunes singles chart.
Five straight top 10 hits on iTunes. A pair of number ones. Coming off her best performance yet. You could say Cassadee Pope has developed a little momentum heading into tonight’s performance finale on The Voice. So the big question tonight isn’t whether she’ll falter, because that’s tough to envision.
Adam Lambert served as host and two other former Idol contestants performed when the 2012 VH1 Divas aired Sunday night. Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks took the stage during the show. Kelly performed her “Catch My Breath” single; Jordin was part of a Whitney Houston tribute. Adam took the stage as a performer, too, singing…
