On a night when Miley Cyrus stirred up a fuss by dancing around a pole, and dad Billy Ray Cyrus took home the award as Best Parental Unit, American Idol didn’t do half bad at the Teen Choice Awards, held Sunday night and televised last night.

Idols were nominated in 10 categories and left with top honors in five.

Thank season seven runner-up David Archuleta for that. He won three Teen Choice Awards. And believe it or not, topped the host Jonas Brothers in two of the three categories.

Here’s a rundown of how the Idols fared, followed by photos from the show.

TV Reality Competition: American Idol won, beating out “America’s Best Dance Crew,” “America’s Next Top Model,” “The Bachelor” and “Dancing With the Stars.”

TV: Male Reality/Variety Star: Adam Lambert beat out Kris Allen, Rob Dyrdek of “Rod Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory,” Brody Jenner of “Bromance” and Ryan Sheckler of “Life of Ryan.”

Music, Single: Kelly Clarkson was nominated for “My Life Would Suck Without You.” Miley Cyrus won for “The Climb.” Hey, it is the Teen Choice Awards, folks.

Music, R&B Artist: Grammy-winner Jennifer Hudson was nominated. The award went to Beyonce.

Music, Breakout Artist: David A. beat out David Cook, Kid Cudi, Asher Roth and, believe it or not, Lady Gaga.

Music, Love Song: Another win for David A. with “The Crush.” His competition included: Halo” (Beyonce), “Lovebug” (Jonas Brothers), “How Do You Sleep” (Jesse McCarthy), “Love Story” (Taylor Swift). What? David A. beat the Jonas Brothers for a Teen Choice Award? Way to go, David.

Music, Album by Male Artist: David Cook was nominated for his self-titled debut. Jason Mraz took the honors.

Music, Album by Female Artist: Carrie Underwood was nominated for “Carnival Ride.” The honors went to a teen, Taylor Swift, for “Fearless.”

Music, Favorite Tour: Another surfboard for David A., whose tour with Demi Lovato took the nod. The American Idol tour, the Jonas Brothers, Britney Spears and Taylor Swift were also nominated.

Red Carpet Icon, Male: Adam Lambert was up for the honor; the Jonas Brothers took it.
