Bo Bice has a new album due out on May 18.

It was supposed to be called “Different Shades of Blue.”

But Thursday, the season four American Idol announced a new name: “3.”

I somehow doubt it has anything to do with Britney Spears’ hit song by the same name.

But it is his third album.

And three is likely more important to Bo for another reason. He and wife Caroline’s third son, Ean Jacob, was born in January, joining a family that also includes Aidan, 4, and Caleb, who will turn 2 in August.

In a story posted Thursday, Bo told People magazine that fans can expect a couple of other changes.

For one, there will be more country elements in his new music.

And he’s changed his look, cutting off his hair to shoulder length.
