The single he wrote, “Where You Come From,” is sitting at number one on the iTunes singles chart.
Yep, it’s ahead of every other song in the nation, including the three penned by professional songwriters for the other top three contestants on Season 14 of The Voice.
We won’t learn whether that’s enough to boost Britton to the Season 14 title until the end of tonight’s two-hour results show on The Voice (special starting time of 9 p.m., a recap of Monday’s show airs at 8 p.m.)
It might not be enough, because teen sensation Brynn Cartelli wound up with both of her solos from Monday’s show in the Top 10 while Kyla Jade and Spensha Baker each had one.
Of course, a late push gave Britton a second Top 10 too. His cover of “Good Lovin'” was sitting at number two when voting ended.
Contestants who wind up with solo performances in the Top 10 on iTunes when voting closed at noon have their iTunes downloads multiplied by five for voting purposes.
Brynn’s original, “Walk My Way,” was sitting at number three on iTunes. Her cover of Adele’s “Skyfall” was at number six.
And here’s something to celebrate, every member of the Top 4 topped a genre chart as of noon. Brynn was number one on the pop chart, Spensha number one on the country chart, Kyla was number one on the R&B / Soul chart and Britton was number one on the rock chart.
Here’s where all the songs wound up when voting closed.
