New post-Voice music out this week includes a single from Ryan Innes and covers from Sawyer Fredericks and Sam James.

Here’s a look at those releases.

The links, where available, take you to the releases on Apple Music. Or you can check out the Spotify snippets below.

* Sawyer Fredericks, the Season 8 champ, released a cover of “What a Wonderful World” on Friday. Explains Sawyer: “In my last year of touring, and the many live streams during this pandemic, I have found myself wanting to close my shows with this iconic song by Louis Armstrong. Many of my original songs deal with the darker stories and emotional struggles of life, and this timeless song is a hopeful reminder of all the good in the world.” He collaborated with Andrew Benincasa and Lindsey Morano on the accompanying music video.

* Ryan Innes from Season 4 has released a single called “Creature.” He wrote the song with David Radcliffe, John Hancock and Joel Ansett and describes it as sounding “like Danger Mouse produced a D’Angelo track for a Quentin Tarantino film.” Adds Ryan: “One day you’ll see it on a big movie or TV show. Mark my words.”

* Sam James from Season 3 released an acoustic cover of Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage,” but you’ll only find it on Spotify for now. It sounds like it might be the first of several covers he releases to the site. Sam was featured on the debut season of “Songland” back in 2019.
