If you tuned in five minutes later to The Voice Tuesday night, you missed the evening’s musical highlight.

Well, of course, it was the only musical performance of that night.

But that takes nothing away from the fact that Season 14 champ Brynn Cartelli returned with a soulful new self-penned tune that’s more proof of how talented this young lady is.

Remember, Brynn is now 16 and was just 15 when she became the youngest champion in Voice history.

And listening to the lyrics, you have to wonder if that played a role in her new single, “Growing Young.”

Officially, the tile of the song is “Growing Young (Version 1).” Brynn explained that in a tweet.

“I had to admit something to myself when I wrote this song,” she wrote on Twitter. “This is an imperfect, raw version of a story I’ve been wanting to share for a while; a sneak peek of the bigger project.

“This is for all who have wished they could go back in time.”

And haven’t we all at one point or another.

Here’s her Voice version of “Growing Young.”
