The American Idol judges apparently weren’t the only ones mightily impressed by Canaan James Hill’s audition for the show’s 23rd audition.

Canaan closed out Sunday’s final audition episode with a stirring cover of “I Need Your Glory” by Earnest Pugh, showing off all sorts of vocal talent.

The judges loved the audition so much, they rewarded the 17-year-old from Dallas with one of three platinum tickets Idol hands out each season, allowing him to skip the first round of Hollywood Week.

As for the show’s fans, they simply made Canaan’s audition the most viewed on YouTube, but a pretty incredible margin.

As of noon Friday, Canaan’s audition had been viewed more than 870,000 times on YouTube. The next closest — from Canada’s Olivier Bergeron — had just more than 316,000. You can check out the numbers below.

All of the singers below with the exception of Ethan Senger and possibly Kaleo Knight survived the first round in Hollywood. That means they could be featured in the Hollywood Week episodes set to air Sunday and Monday on ABC.
