Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry, Idols at awards shows

Carrie, Daughtry, Idol land People’s Choice nominations

The only other Idol nominee for a 2011 People’s Choice Award is Daughtry. Chris and the guys are nominated alongside Paramore, Nickelback, Maroon 5 and Linkin Park.

Daughtry was nominated in 2010 as well, when the honor went to Paramore.

Which brings us to Carrie, who won as favorite country artist last year but lost to Taylor Swift as favorite female artist. (Go figure.)

She’s nominated in the same two categories this year.

The other nominees for favorite country artist are Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts and Taylor.

The other nominees for favorite female artist are Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Pink and Taylor.

And here’s a new nomination for Carrie — as favorite guest TV star for her role on an episode of How I Met Your Mother.

In that category, the other nominees are Betty White, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and, oddly enough, Neil Patrick Harris. The latter for his appearance on Glee.

Idol, of course, is nominated as favorite competition show, the category it won last year. Other nominees: Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, Hell’s Kitchen and America’s Got Talent.

Fans can vote online for their favorites through Dec. 7 at the People’s Choice website. The awards will be presented Jan. 5.

While we’re on the topic of award shows, check out Idol Chatter tomorrow night. I’ll be blogging live during the County Music Awards, posting all the photos I can find.
