Carrie Underwood, Idols at awards shows

Carrie honored again, for songwriting this time

1

When Carrie Underwood released her debut album, “Some Hearts,” back in 2005, she had a co-written one song on the album.

That song:  “I Ain’t in Checotah Anymore.”

Flash forward almost exactly six years, and Carrie Underwood was on stage Tuesday night in Nashville accepting song-writing awards for three co-writes off her most recent album, “Play On.”

All three tunes — “Undo It,”  “Temporary Home” and “Mama’s Song” — were among the 50 most performed country songs on radio and television, according to BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.), which held the awards ceremony.

Carrie, of course, will be back on stage this evening as co-host of the CMA Music Awards.

Meanwhile, enjoy The Associated Press photos of Carrie from last night’s event.
