The Billboard music charts were updated this morning, and Carrie Underwood is now just one spot away from another No. 1 country hit.
Her latest single, “Temporary Home,” moves up from three to two this week on the country singles chart, moving past Blake Shelton’s “Hillbilly Bone” and still trailing Easton Corbin’s “A Little More Country Than That.”
Carrie also had the top Idol-related album on the Billboard 200 as “Play On” checks in at number 28, the same spot it held last week.
And, in other Carrie related news, she’ll be performing at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 18.
She’s the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year and has been nominated for a host of awards again this year.
Other performers include Shelton, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Trace Adkins, Reba McIntire and Jason Aldean.
While we’re on the topic of country music, last week’s top ranked Idol album on the Billboard 200 was Danny Gokey’s “My Best Days.” This week, that album topples from 16 to 33.
Check back this weekend for a rundown on how all the Idols did on this week’s Billboard charts.
