The wait for new Carrie Underwood music is over.
But if Carrie fans were hoping for country twang on the new single, they just might be disappointed.
“Good Girl,” released Friday on iTunes, is closer to pop-rock, clearly designed for cross-over success, complete with hand claps, a rousing electric guitar solo and a wonderful a cappella ending.
The reception: The single is currently number 2 on the iTunes chart, trailing only “We Are Young” by Fun and just ahead of … guess who?
That’s right, Kelly Clarkson with “Stronger.”
“Thanks for all the awesome feedback on ‘Good Girl’ … can’t wait for you to hear more new music!” Carrie says via Twitter.
That’s right. In conjunction with the single release, Carrie has finally arrived on Twitter. You can follow her here. More than 71,000 fans already have.
Anyway, here’s Carrie’s rocking warning to the good girl who picks the wrong man.
