Carrie scores her 12th number one country single

Billboard doesn’t update its online music charts until later today, but americanidol.com is reporting that Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood have landed in the number one spot on the country singles chart with their duet, “Remind Me.”

It marks the 11th number one country hit for Carrie, the 17th for Brad and the second time this year a past Idol winner has landed in the number one spot on the county chart with a duet.

Kelly Clarkson turned the trick earlier this year with “Don’t You Want to Stay,” recorded with Jason Aldean for his “My Kinda Party” album.

The Carrie-Brad single, off his “This is Country” album, had moved into the number two spot a week ago, behind “Am I the Only One” by Dierks Bentley.

Carrie and Brad will once again serve as co-hosts of this year’s Country Music Awards (8 p.m., Nov. 9, ABC). It’d only make sense for them to perform the song during the show. Right?
