An official announcement hasn’t been made by the folks organizing the 55th Grammy Awards.
But Carrie Underwood tweeted to fans over the weekend that she’ll be performing on the Feb. 10 telecast.
Carrie’s selection isn’t surprising.
Besides being one of the brightest stars in country music, she already has five Grammys to her credit.
And she’s up for two more in 2013. She’s nominated for best country solo performance for the single “Blown Away.”
That tune is also nominated for country song of the year, a songwriting award.
“Blown Away” is still number 14 on the Billboard country singles chart, one spot ahead of “Two Black Cadillacs,” Carrie’s third single from the “Blown Away” album.
“Two Black Cadillacs” also moved up on the Hot 100 (from 70 to 61) and country airplay (16 to 13) charts last week.
Also up for honors at the Grammys is Kelly Clarkson, nominated for Record of the Year, Solo Pop Performance (both for the single “Stronger”) and Pop Vocal Album of the Year (“Stronger”).
Other announced Grammy performers include the Black Keys, Fun., Mumford & Sons, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift.
