Carrie Underwood, Idols at awards shows

Carrie Underwood honored on Girls’ Night Out

1

A night after her rousing duet with Steven Tyler at the Academy of Country Music awards show, Carrie Underwood was back on stage in Las Vegas Monday night.

This time she was being honored — one of several female country artists saluted during the filming of  “ACM Presents Girls’ Night Out: Superstar Women of Country.”

The show will broadast on CBS April 22 and also featured performances by Reba McEntire, Martina McBride and, of course, Miranda Lambert, among others.

Each female was serenaded by a male artist. In Carrie’s case, Vince Gill performed her hit song, “Jesus Take the Wheel.”

Then Carrie joined him on stage to sing “How Great Thou Art.”

Lambert called it her favorite moment of the night, telling The Associated Press that Carrie “brought the house down.”

Watch the video above, and I think you’ll realize why, even if the audio isn’t perfect.

And, like I said, this came the night after Steven and Carrie teamed up to perform one of her hits, “Undo It,” and one of his, “Walk This Way,” thrilling the crowd at the ACMs.

“I love being able to do different things,” Carrie told AP. “Those rare moments when you get to do something that’s unexpected or out of the blue. That’s where creativity comes out, when you put yourself in that moment.”

Here are the photos from the performance.
