Carrie Underwood is only 26, and she’s already bound for the Hall of Fame.
The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, that is.
Inductees were announced Monday. Carrie will be joined by Rocky Frisco and Ramona Reed as part of the Class of 2009.
All three are scheduled to perform at the 13th annual induction ceremony, set for Sept. 17 at the Muskogee Civic Center.
Carrie is an Oklahoma native, of course. And she made her hometown of Checotah famous by singing about it on her first album, “Some Hearts.”
The Hall of Fame induction will be just the latest in a long line of accolades for Idol’s season four winner. She’s the reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year and has four Grammy awards to her credit.
And I’m sure fans can’t wait for album number three, due out Nov. 3. No word on a title yet.
Who’s already in the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame?
Glad you asked. Past inductees include Vince Gill, Toby Keith and, naturally, Merle Haggard. Here’s a link to the press release about the event.
