Good news, because the show wouldn’t have been the same without her.

After all, Carrie has been named Entertainer of the Year at the ACMs for the past two years. She has a total of 10 ACM awards to her credit, including three as female vocalist of the year.

Carrie was announced as a performer for the 46th annual show earlier this week. Other new performers announced include Alabama, Dierks Bentley, Ronnie Dunn, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Blake  Shelton and the Zac Brown Band.

And, for Idol fans, presenters will include Ryan Seacrest.

The show will be aired at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 3, on CBS.

Carrie won’t have a chance to three-peat as Entertainer of the Year because she isn’t nominated.

This year’s nominees for that honor — Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban — will also be performing on the show.

Hmm, wonder if Jason will show up with Kelly Clarkson in tow? Perhaps to perform that number one hit, “Don’t You Want to Stay?”

Anyway, Carrie is nominated for female vocalist of the year, an honor she has won three times.

Her competition: Miranda, Taylor, Reba and Lee Ann Womack.

Carrie, by the way, was also a performer Monday night at in Washington, D.C., at a Points of Light Institute celebration of President George H. W. Bush’s leadership in promoting volunteerism.

Carrie sang John Lennon’s “Instant Karma,” and is featured in the video clip from the event below.

NBC is supposed to televise a portion of the event Monday night, from 8 to 9 p.m.
