Lots has been written about the trouble women have garnering airplay on country radio.
But there are two things you can count on when it comes to women and country music.
If Miranda Lambert or Carrie Underwood releases a new single, it’s going to be a hit.
This time, it’s Carrie’s turn. Here latest song, “Smoke Break,” hit iTunes late last night.
By 10 a.m. Friday, the single was number five on the overall iTunes’ chart.
And it topped the country singles chart, of course.
Some fan reaction, courtesy of Facebook:
Sal Joseph Raniolo: “Love it! To me, it’s the most country she’s ever sounded.”
Marie Cawson: “Heard it today on 99.5 and LOVE it just like every other one of your songs.”
Kara Morgan: “I Loved It!!! I Can’t Wait To Buy Your New CD Carrie!!! I’ve Loved You Carrie Since Day One!!!”
Cherie Avril Noelle Twain: “OMG. I love this song and Carrie’s voice!”
If you haven’t heard it, here’s the song.
