Catie Turner hasn’t changed much since we met her on Season 16 of American Idol.

On Friday, she dropped her first post-show single. In the days, leading up to the release, she teased it on Facebook.

“‘Prom Queen’ comes out in 8 days, so I think a genius way to advertise is trying to spell it out with my body. So this is supposed to be a P,” she wrote, posting the photo at right.

And on Instagram, she posted a photo of herself standing in front of a green wall, hands held to her head, mostly covering her face.

“There’s no correlation (between the green wall and the song),” she wrote. “I’m just excited.”

With reason. The song even made Time’s list of five new songs you need to hear this week.

And that’s not the extent of the Catie Turner update. The 19-year-old is planning to release an EP this summer.

She also has a hometown concert, her first solo show on the East Coast, scheduled for Friday, May 10 at the Middletown Township Community Park in Langhorne, Pa. Tickets are $10 and you can head here for more information.

Catie made it all the way to the Top 7 on Season 16, making her eligible for the Idol summer tour. She turned 19 earlier this year.

Here’s “Prom Queen.”

She also released her first single “21st Century Machine” in November 2018. It is wonderful and available to stream as well!
