The song is called “Fool for You.” And while Kelsie says she writes most of her songs about personal experiences, this is more of a song about a personal observation.
It was inspired by a girl she knows who keeps breaking up with her boyfriend and then getting back together, over and over.
‘I say they’re on and off more than a light switch,” Kelsie says in the lead-up to a video performance of the song.
Kelsie was featured on Season 8 of The Voice, but three years passed before she released her first post-Voice single, “Driving,” which came out last summer.
In an interview with Voice Views, the young woman from Kentucky called The Voice “a surreal experience,” but said she waited to release music “because I needed time to develop my artistic vision.”
