Since finding out that a former American Idol finalist and a former Voice contestant had joined the same country gal group, I’ve been eager to hear some of their new music.

Wish granted.

South Haven has now unveiled a Facebook page and a website to go along with their Twitter account.

And that website includes Soundcloud versions of five songs; I’ve embedded my two favorites below. Head to the site to listen to the rest.

The music is pop-country. You’ll even hear a couple lines rapped now and then. And the harmonies are excellent.

The website sums up the music as “combining classic country influences with modern sounds and melodies from pop, rock and EDM.

“Their creations are two clicks off center from the mainstream and the ladies of South Haven are more than comfortable with that.”

As for those former contestants, the ex-Idol is Maddie Walker, who finished in the Top 11 on the show last year.

From The Voice, there’s Nicolette Mare, who landed a spot on Team Adam in Season 8. She was eliminated in the battle round when she went up against eventual finalist Deanna Johnson.
