Taylor John, now 25, told the site “White Summer Dress” was one of the first songs he wrote after moving from Portland to L.A. last summer.
“This was, and has continued to be, an emotionally turbulent time for me,” he said. “The song deals with the claustrophobic feeling that comes from trying to maintain a calm exterior in moments of internal chaos.”
It’s also the first song from an upcoming album.
Not that Taylor John has been silent since placing fifth on Season 7 of The Voice.
He released an EP called “Hirath” last summer and one called “Song of a Dead Man” the year before that.
You can follow Taylor John through his Facebook page and website. On Twitter, he’s @MrTaylorJohn.
