Taylor John Williams has released a new video from his El Dorado album.

Taylor John Williams has dropped a music video for one of the best songs from his “El Dorado” album.

It’s a simple performance video in which Taylor John is joined by vocalists Ricky Manning, Beck Pete and Madison Malone and Emily Elkin on cello for a performance of “Like the Movies.”

And the song, one of my favorites from Taylor John’s debut album, is even more mesmerizing in a stripped down setting.

Taylor John told Yahoo Music the song is about “an addiction to the idea of getting something back that perhaps ought not be gotten back.”

More specifically, he said it was inspired when a large field in his hometown — one where he shared a “defining moment” with his first great love — before the home for a drug treatment center.

Taylor John’s “El Dorado” album focuses on his transition from Seattle to L.A. You’ll also want to check out a track called “Up North.”

You can keep up with Taylor John, the fifth place finisher on Season 7 of The Voice, through his Facebook page and website.

Oh, and that Ricky Manning reference above. Yep, that’s the same Ricky Manning who finished Top 20 on Season 7.

Here’s the music video.
