Fans of The Voice might be pleased to know we’ll have a Chris Mann album in our hands this fall.
Chris has signed a record label deal with Faircraft/Universal Republic.
It’s a new label, headed by producer and veteran A&R executive Ron Fair, who previously signed and mentored Christina Aguilera.
Chris, of course, competed on Team Christina on The Voice. He wound up finishing fourth, and his duet of “The Prayer” with Christina cracked the top 10 on iTunes’ most-downloaded list the day after they performed it.
Chris, 30, the guy with the operatic background, released two EPs prior to The Voice, one in 2009 and one in 2011.
But this will be his first full-length endeavor, and he’s understandably thrilled for the opportunity.
“Talk about a dream situation,” he’s quoted as saying in a press release announcing the signing. “I got to collaborate with Ron Fair — a music exec who understands and thrives in a creative environment — and then have the music released through a major label.”
Here’s another version of “The Prayer,” this time done as a duet with former Idol contestant Katharine McPhee, now of Smash fame.
