The song is from his new independent album, “Constellation,” released earlier this mont.
Unlike his cover-filled post-Voice debut album (“Roads” from 2012), the new CD features mostly songs Chris wrote.
Chris talked to Broadwayworld.com about his new album recently, and here’s what he said about “Comeback.”
“‘Comeback” is definitely a story song right out of my pages. As someone’s who’s been in the business 12 years, being on two labels, off two labels … it’s an uphill battle, there’s highs and lows, but you have to keep getting back up. So that’s a very personal song.”
That said, you won’t spot Chris in the video until the very last scene.
As for the album, “Constellation” debuted at number 33 on Billboard’s independent albums chart. The album was partly funded through a Pledge Music campaign.
And as I’ve noted previously, Chris is currently playing the lead in the national tour of “Phantom of the Opera.” That show will be landing at the Kennedy Center in D.C. July 13 to Aug. 20. Tickets range from $25 to $149.
Chris placed fourth on Season 2 of The Voice.
