It landed Friday in the former of a song called “Honestly.” And it was worth the wait.
In a social media post, Chris sayshe considers the song “the art piece” of his upcoming album, “Noise.”
It’s a song he wrote years ago with Deanna Walker, Tiffany Vartanyan and Rune Westberg.
“We knew it was special from the start,” Chris says. “The haunting piano, the cascading melodies and the poetic lyrics made us all really feel the feels.
“I took a shot in the dark and sent the demo to my friend @indiaarie. She kinda freaked out over it. Two days later she sent me her vocals for this record.
“This kind of thing doesn’t happen in this industry. But it does when you’re working with an angel like India. I’ve long admired her music and have enjoyed her friendship and support for years. Recording together was a box unchecked.”
“Honestly” is the third song Chris has released from “Noise,” following “Gentleman” and the title track.
“Noise” will be the first album from Chris since 2016’s “Constellation.” Chris finished third on Season 2 of The Voice.
Here’s “Honestly.”
