Chris Richardson from American Idol Season 6 has debuted a new single, Why You Mad.

Chris, 29, of Chesapeake, Va., placed fifth back on Season 6 of American Idol.

He’s working on an album with Cash Money Records — yep, the same label that features Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj.

The You Heard That New site reports that Chris originally recorded the new single in his home in Virginia, traveled to Miami for an official recording and wound up adding a guest rap by Caskey.

It’s Chris’ second single since signing with Cash Money. He released “Joy & Pain” — which is on iTunes — last August, and is also a featured vocalist on a Tyga single, “Far Away,” that came out in 2011.

The timing of that long-awaited album?

Well, the site that debuted the single notes Chris “has been hard at work on his debut album for quite some time because an organic sound is something that can’t be rushed.”
