Two singers turned all four coaches’ chairs as The Voice returned for Season 13 Monday night.

One landed on Team Miley Cyrus and one landed on Team Jennifer Hudson, giving the ladies the early edge in landing singers everyone wanted.

Monday’s show also featured a former NFL player (Esera Tuaolo) and a singer (Dave Crosby) whose 4-year-old daughter has become a YouTube sensation and wound up appearing on The Ellen Show and Little Big Shots.

Here’s a look at Voice Views picks for the night’s top three performances, followed by all the rest.

1. Chris Weaver
Song: “Try a Little Tenderness” by Otis Redding
Chair turns: All four coaches turned, Chris selected Team Jennifer Hudson.
Why?: He kicked off the show with a performance that show remarkable control and power and never seemed like he was over-singing the song.

2. Janice Freeman
Song: “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons
Chair turns: Jennifer Hudson and Miley Cyrus turned. Janice chose Team Miley.
Why?: How did only two coaches turn for that performance? She made the Imagine Dragons song her own and the last 30 seconds of that performance was pure fire and fury.

3. Brooke Simpson
Song: “Stone Cold” by Demi Lovato
Chair turns: All four coaches turn. Brooke joins Team Miley.
Why?: The coaches were right to turn for her show-ending performance. What a marvelous voice. The only reasons she lands here is that Brooke seemed to stumble for just a moment after Blake and Miley turned, assuring her a spot on the show.
