Here’s a bit about each of those releases.

* Citizen Queen, featuring Hannah Mrozak from Season 13, started out as a five-girl group releasing a capella covers a la Pentatonix. But they’re releasing originals now, and dropped one called “Y” on Friday. There’s also an accompanying music video. Says the queens: “We can’t even begin to explain how much this song means to us. We hope it brings you healing & comfort like it has brought us. “Y” follows “Call Me Queen” from December and “No Ego” from February. The group also includes Kaedi Dalley, Cora Isabel, Nina Nelson and Kaylah Sharve.

* Ashley DuBose from Season 4 has collaborated with Finnish artist Misha on a song called “Michaelangelo.” It’s the third single from an EP he’ll be releasing and the second time they’ve collaborated. The first was when Ashley provided the vocals on a song called “Let It Go” from his 2020 EP “Midnight Sun.” Ashley dropped her own fun single, “Boy Crazy,” earlier this month.

* Brooke Stephenson from Season 17 continued her string of impressive singles, releasing “Cry to Me” on Friday. She told American Songwriter it’s a song “about unconditional love. It’s about having someone whose shoulder you can cry on when you need it, who will be there through thick and thin. This song is for those who have been lucky enough to experience an unconditional type of love, and also for those who aspire to find it someday.” Brooke will be releasing her debut EP, “Backbone,” later this year.
