Contest prize: Phillip Phillips’ gold record for ‘Home’

0

For lots of former Idol contestants, a plaque signifying 500,000 sales of a single would be a prized possession.

But I guess it doesn’t seem that special when your first single sells in excess of 1 million downloads.

Phillip Phillips just tweeted that he’s giving away his gold single plaque for “Home” in celebration of the fact that he’s reached 500,000 followers on Twitter.

Pretty much all you have to do to enter is go here, send out a tweet and agree to follow Phillips and Interscope Records on twitter if you haven’t already.

Oh, and you have to be 14 to enter.

“Home,” the song Phillip pretty much disowned in a post-victory interview (whether or not he now admits to it) is number nine on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, and was number two among the most downloaded songs in the land last week.

This morning it was still number five on the iTunes singles chart.
