The song is called “Haven’t Seen It Yet.”
And 24 hours after its release, it was sitting at number four on the iTunes Christian singles chart.
Danny sums up the message behind the rousing new single on his Facebook page.
“If you’re feeling frustrated and deflated when you take inventory of your life because you’re not where you thought you were supposed to be at this moment in your life, take heart, because IT’S NOT OVER!!” he writes. “You’re actually closer than you think you are.”
No word yet on when Danny might release a third Christian album.
After a short foray into country music following a third-place finish on Season 8 of American Idol, Danny released a pair of Christian albums — “Hope in Front of Me” (2014) and “Rise” (2017). Both hit number one on Billboard’s Christian albums charts.
“Haven’t Seen It Yet” also landed the same day Danny kicked off his participation in the 40-plus date Winter Jam tour, which also features another former American Idol standout, Mandisa, plus Newsboys United, Rend Collective and others.
That tour will stop at Santander Arena in Reading, Pa., on Feb. 14, and at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center on March 30.
Head here for all the tour dates and ticket information.
Here’s “Haven’t Seen It Yet.”

First original single in two years? I’m willing to entertain that perhaps I don’t know what “original single” means, but Danny Gokey released “The Comeback” in 2017, and “Masterpiece” and “If You Ain’t In It” in 2018. On a related note, I’m excited to hear about a new Danny Gokey single.
All the songs you mention are from his January 2017 album “Rise,” hence the 2 years reference. Perhaps I should have phrased it as first new original. https://idolchatteryd.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php#comments-form
