David Archuleta today announced a “My Kind of Christmas” tour that so far includes 10 dates from Dec. 1 to Dec. 21.

The closest to this area is a Sunday, Dec. 4 show, at the Sherman Theater on Main Street in Stroudsburg, a little more than a two and one-half hour drive from York.

Tickets for the show will be $30 and go on sale to the general public on Friday. VIP packages are also available through David’s website and go on sale Thursday.

In a vlog about the upcoming shows David said the tour that followed the 2009 release of his fine “Christmas from the Heart” album was his favorite to date, so he’s really looking forward to the upcoming events.

He also said he’ll be announcing more tour dates in the near future, though the vlog didn’t specify whether those will be part of the Christmas tour or something else altogether.

Judging from the press release on his website, this tour will follow the format of the 2009 Christmas tour, with David performing holiday favorites as well as some of his non-Christmas music.

“Christmas from the Heart” was one of the very best Christmas releases from a former Idol contestant, and David followed it up earlier this month with a guest vocalist role on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s “Glad Christmas Tidings” CD/DVD. The CD features 13 tracks; David is featured on five, including “Silent Night” and “Joy to the World.” Here’s a complete list of the tour dates announced so far.
