Looks like David Archuleta will leave behind plenty of musical memories when he heads off on that two-year mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
And some of those might surface after he leaves at the end of the month.
In a video blog posted late last week, David announced that he’s working on an album of covers for U.S. release.
That’s in addition to the album of Filipino love songs he recorded while visiting the Philippines to film the TV mini-series Nandito Ako.
Of the U.S. album, David says, “I’m just going to be doing some good covers that are kind of in tune with where I’m going next in my life.”
My guess is an album of inspirational music.
As for timing, David says “some of the stuff won’t be out until I’m not here.”
Meaning David will record the album before he leaves, but it won’t be released that quickly.
The Filipino album, however, apparently will be released this month. It’s called “Forevermore” and is available via international shipping. Go here for the details.
Oh, and if you’d like to send David fan mail during his mission trip, here’s where it should go, according to his website: PO Box 4297 Apopka, FL 32704 USA

I can’t wait to hear all of the great music David has been working so hard on.
I’ve already pre-ordered Archuleta’s “Forevermore” album via davidarchuleta.com … heard him sing one of the songs live (via youTube), South Border’s “Wherever You Are” and I was sold. Amazing track.
