David Cook will embark on an acoustic tour later this month.

And fans will be delighted to know that’s he’s releasing a new single in conjunction with that tour.

“Death of Me” is scheduled to land Oct. 26, the day after David’s 19-date acoustic tour begins at the Old Rock House in St. Louis.

David told The Connecticut Post the song was the first he wrote after ending his second stint on Broadway as Charlie Price in “Kinky Boots.”

“It’s just another step forward in the evolution of my sound,” he told the site in an interview.

“As you know, I made a conscious effort to try some different things with ‘Chromance’ (an EP released earlier this year). I think it’s just another extension of that.”

Fans can check out a snippet of the new single on David’s website, as well as find information about all 19 tour dates.

Those include stops at the World Cafe Live in Philly on Thursday, Nov. 8, and at the City Winery in D.C. on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
