The folks at X Factor just announced that Demi Lovato will be back for Season 3.

So that’s two spots on the panel filled.

But we’re still left wondering who will replace L.A. Reid and Britney Spears.

Demi joined The X Factor judging panel after Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger left at the end of Season 1.

She developed a nice rapport with Simon, was certainly more entertaining than Britney, but was saddled with a tough task for a rookie.

Let’s just say her young adults category wasn’t overflowing with talent. Especially after she decided to cut Willie Jones.

In a press release announcing her return, Demi calls Season 2 “an unbelievable experience.”

Says Simon: “I couldn’t be happier that Demi wants to come back next year. She’s a superstar in her own right and was a fantastic mentor last year. Even though she can be really, really annoying, I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists.”

The X Factor had been teasing a big announcement for the past couple hours and asking folks to guess what it was.

My favorite guess: Simon Cowell has decided to stop showing more cleavage than the ladies.

X Factor’s response: LOL. That, only time will tell.
