Jason Castro released a sneak peak at his upcoming Christian album Tuesday in the form of a 5-song EP titled “Starting Line.”
The EP features his new single, “Only a Mountain,” and four previously unreleased songs that are apparently going to be included on his new album by the same name.
That album is scheduled for release in early 2013.
As for the EP, it’s available for download at iTunes and physical copies are being sold exclusively at Walmart, as Jason demonstrates in the photo to the right.
Having given the EP a quick listen, I’m not sure there’s anything here that matches the best songs from his debut album (like “That’s What I’m Here For” and “You Can Always Come Home”).
But “I Believe” and “If It’s Love” are solid tracks certainly worth a listen.
And “Only a Mountain” is number 27 on the Billboard Christian songs chart this week.
If you haven’t heard the single, here it is.
