A year removed from the Idol stage, Allison Iraheta is ready to release her third single and head out on tour with Adam Lambert and Orianthi.
When the former happens, fans will be in for a surprise.
The “Don’t Waste the Pretty” single will include a guest star — Orianthi, who performed on Idol earlier this year.
“She laid down some guitar, which sounds so stupid, so ridiculously good. And also did some vocals. It’s gonna be this crazy, awesome rock hard song,” Allison said Tuesday morning, when I spoke to her about her upcoming tour.
“She definitely brings just something awesome to it. I’m really excited about that. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it because it’s so good,” she added.
Allison isn’t certain exactly when the single will be released.
Of course, her debut album, “Just Like You” hit stores in December and has already yielded two singles, “Scars” and “Friday I’ll Be Over You.”
As for the tour, it kicks off June 4, right here in Pa. In Wilkes-Barre at the F.M. Kirby Center, to be exact.
The tour also includes a June 27 date at Ram’s Head Live in Baltimore.
But if you dallied getting your tickets, you waited too long. Both shows are already sold out.
In the meantime, Allison will be in the crowd watching the final performance show of American Idol tonight, live in Los Angeles.
After hemming and hawing for a while, she admits she’ll be rooting for Crystal Bowersox.
“A girl maybe needs to win this year,” Allison said. “There haven’t been girls winning lately. But you know what? I’m really cool with both of them.”
Editor’s Note: Check back between now and June 4 for the rest of the Idol Chatter interview with Allison Iraheta.
