At long last, Apple Music versions of songs performed on the show will be available, but those songs will be accompanied by a major rule change.
No longer will downloading an artist’s song count as votes. The only thing that matters is streaming the songs on Apple Music.
And here’s why voting via streaming is so important. The artist with the most streams during the overnight voting window (remember, that now runs from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. EST) will get a bonus that multiples streams of their song by five for voting purposes.
The bonus will only go to the singer with the most streams, a major departure from The Voice’s past practice of awarding the bonus to anyone whose song lands in the Top 10 on the iTunes chart.
Only the first 10 streams counts, but that new way for handling bonus points magnifies the importance of streaming your favorite’s song.
To illustrate, suppose the singer with the most streams has 1,000 fans stream his or her song 10 times. That’s 10,000 votes that become 50,000 thanks to the bonus.
A second-place finisher with 999 fans streaming his or her song 10 times would wind up with 9,999 votes, more than 40,000 fewer.

Watch for song by song grades after Monday’s show!
The other new way to vote this week is via Xfinity, either through your set-top box or online at xfinity.com/voicevote. Here are the instructions The Voice provides for voting via that method.
And this week fans can continue to vote via The Voice website and the official Voice app.
That means a total of four ways to support your favorite in the competition.
Remember, the 10-vote limit per method — be it Xfinity, the website or the app — is per email address.
So if you have more than one email address, you can cast lots and lots of extra votes for your favorite.
Just don’t forget that shortened voting window. It will apply throughout Season 15.

I say its not fair to folks that don’t have itunes or xfinity.
Leann: For Xfinity, try going to the website and voting using your email. I’m not sure you need to be an xfinity subscriber to vote. I’ve asked The Voice, but haven’t gotten an answer yet.
You don’t need to subscribe to Xfinity or Comcast to vote on that site. Anyone can vote using your e-mail address the same way as you can on the main NBC Voice site.
This isn’t actually the first season they’ve had Xfinity voting. The Voice just doesn’t do a good job of letting viewers know about it.
Thanks for all your outstanding Voice coverage. It’s a great service to the show’s artists & fans.
