Two former singing show standouts will be performing on PBS’ annual July 4 show, “A Capitol Fourth,” on Thursday.
The 8 p.m. show will include performances by Fantasia, American Idol’s Season 3 camp, and Loren Allred, who made it to the playoffs on Season 3 of The Voice back in 2012.
Loren was 22 at the time. Now 34, she’s much better known as the voice behind the hit song “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman soundtrack.
The Pittsburg native also competed in Britian’s Got Talent in 2022 and made the finals, finishing ninth. And on America’s Got Talent, Fantasy League, earlier this year, making it to the semifinals.
Fantasia, 40, starred as Celie in the 2023 film version of The Color Purple, receiving and NAACP Image Award and a Golden Globe nomination for her performance.
Other performers on “A Capitol Fourth” include Smokey Robinson, Darren Criss, Sheila E. and Sister Sledge.
The show begins at 8 p.m. on most PBS stations with a repeat broadcast at 9:30 p.m.
