James Durbin, Jennifer Hudson, Season 11

Finally, 2 former Idols featured on a Thursday results show

1

I’ve been lobbying for weeks about how Idol should feature past contestants in every results show performance slot.

Tonight, it finally happens.

We’ll hear from Jennifer Hudson, who will perform her new single “Think Like a Man” with Rick Ross and Ne-Yo.

The song moves up one spot this week from 34 to 33 on the Billboard R&B chart.

And we’ll hear from James Durbin, who will sing “Higher Than Heaven” off his “Memories of a Beautiful Disaster”
album.

James told USA Today that “we’re definitely going to rock it like we haven’t rocked it before. Take that into account. I always try to put on a real show, so we definitely won’t shy away from that.”

But James won’t have a lot of idle time after performing on Idol. His national tour also opens tonight, in The Viper Room in L.A.

Remember, that tour includes a May 17 show at the Power Plant in Baltimore, where James will open for Buckcherry. You can get more info on that show here.

Check back Friday morning. I’ll be posting photos from tonight’s performances.

Meanwhile, have a listen to James singing “Higher Than Heaven.”
