If you’re still in the Christmas spirit just a little bit, you might want to check out the American Christmas show, staged earlier this month in the Napa Valley.
I finally got a chance to check it out this weekend.
The show features former Idol contestants like Nikki McKibbin (third place, season one), Jasmine Trias (third place, second three), Lindsey Cardinale (season four), Brandon Rogers, Haley Scarnato (both season six) and several others.
Not all the Christmas covers are on the mark, but Nikki and Lindsey, in particular, were in fine voice.
The highlight of the show comes when the Idols stop singing Christmas songs and start singing new originals.
Those include Lindsey’s “Try,” Nikki’s “My Heart Belongs To You,” Brandon’s “Into Your Life,”
Jasmine’s
“Already Won” and Chikezie’s “This Year.” The latter will make you sorry Chikezie didn’t last longer on season seven.
Anyway, the show is available on Webcast through the end of the year (Thursday, in other words). And the price is right. You can watch the two-hour concert for $3.99.
Speaking of Jasmine, Idol Chatter interviewed her from Las Vegas Monday afternoon and she talked about plans for a second album. Check back early next week for an update on her career.
Meanwhile, here’s a link to the American Christmas Web site.
And to check out pre-concert interviews with Nikki, Lindsey, Brandon and Haley Scarnato, just click on their name in the links to the right of this blog.
