Friday’s Idol show canceled at the Strand

1

Four former American Idol contestants were supposed to perform at the Strand-Capital Friday night as part of a “Celebrate Motown” show.

But the show has been canceled for “unforeseen reasons” and won’t be rescheduled, according to Erin Stine, a public relations and media manager with Moxie, which works with the Strand.

I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that tickets to see four lesser known Idol finalists weren’t exactly selling as quickly as $800 million Powerball tickets.

As recently as last Thursday afternoon when I interviewed him, Season 7’s David Hernandez was still planning on making the trek to York.

The Celebrate Motown show is a Scott Stander and Associates production and also features Michael Sarver from Season 8 and Gina Glocksen and Lakisha Jones from Season 6.

The Strand is offering full refunds or tickets to other shows for folks who planned to attend, Stine said.

Meanwhile, I’ll be posting the still-relevant part of that interview with David later this week.

Aw, that’s a shame. I saw the Idols In Concert For The Holidays tour a couple years agao with David Hernandez, Michael Sarver, Gina Glocken and Alexis Grace. It was fabulous! All of them are better now than when they were on Idol.
