Kelly Clarkson, Already Gone

You know that controversial new single from Kelly Clarkson? “Already Gone?”

Well, you can download the video to the song for free by going here, according to a notice posted on Kelly’s MySpace page.

The song has stirred up controversy because of its similarity to Beyonce’s current single, “Halo.”

Kelly, in fact, has apparently said she tried to keep “Already Gone” from being released as a single because she was afraid people would think she ripped off “Beyonce.”

At the heart of the issue: Ryan Tedder, who provided the backup track for both songs. Here’s a link to the Rolling Stone story on his reaction to the fuss.

PopEater is running a poll on the issue. To date, about 38,000 votes have been cast. Nearly two-thirds of respondents say they think the same backing track is used on both singles.

About 55 percent favor Kelly’s single, which could be good news for Ms. Clarkson. After all, “Halo” is number 20 on Billboard’s Hot 100.
