Nicki Minaj sounded doubtful when Adam Sanders announced that he prefers to sing R&B / soul music with a touch of pop.

That was before the 19-year-old from San Antonio launched into a blistering version of Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind.”

His performance was so good, it brought Keith Urban, Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson to their feet.

Nicki didn’t stand, but she was clearly impressed too.

“Dude can sing,” Keith pronounced, after Adam had left the room clutching a golden ticket to Hollywood.

Dude has been singing for a long, long time and never wanted to be anything other than a singer, according to the bio on his Facebook page, which also lists a number of places where he has performed.
