His real name is Deneco Pittman, but he performs as Neco Starr.

And this is at least his third stab at American Idol fame.

He made it to Hollywood in Season 9; then made it all the way to the Top 40 in Season 11 before being cut.

At the time, the judges told him he needed more time to hone his craft.

Well, since then, he’s launched a website and released a single called “Incomplete” that you can check out below.

And he’s on his way back to Hollywood after performing Adele’s “Someone Like You” at the Atlanta auditions, though the vote was split. Harry Connick Jr. voted against Neco advancing.

Neco addresses his repeated attempts at Idol in his Road to Hollywood video.

“I just want people to feel like, if you keep pushing for something, you can achieve that goal,” the 22-year-old personal assistant from Atlanta says. “I just wanted to prove to people that I belong here and that I can go far.”

Among Neco’s musical influences, he points to Bruno Mars, saying he’s brought something amazing to the music industry. “It was old, but it was still new,” he says.

Here are links to Neco’s YouTube channel, Facebook and Twitter account (@Necostarr).
