Of the contestants we saw make it through to Hollywood from the San Antonio audition episode, Papa Peachez came the closest to not getting a golden ticket.

Oh, Nicki Minaj called him “a superstar” after he sang his own song. She also called him “the most special person we’ve seen today.”

But he only got a small yes from Mariah Carey and Keith Urban and Randy Jackson voted thumbs down.

That left Nicki to plead for Papa’s Idol life.

She convinced Randy to cast the tie-breaking vote in Papa’s favor, so he’s off to Hollywood.

As for Papa, he says most people look at him “and see a cute little white boy. I’m so much more than that. I’m really just a big black woman trapped in a little boy’s body.”

That’s because of the gospel influence in his music, but he also loves to dance, the 19-year-old from Jackson, Mississippi, said.
